Fair Trade Fortnight

A GREAT SUCCESS.

In short Year 9 Fairtrade Action Group have been:

Meeting every Thursday in room 211 to work with local charity Otesha on Fairtrade.

They wanted PE to use Fair Trade footballs so we have ordered in some Fair Trade: footballs, rugby balls, volleyballs, netballs, basketballs for them to try...see above.

In Food Technology Year 9 students have been baking Fair Trade Banana and Chocolate Chip Muffins using Fair Trade ingredients (chocolate, sugar and bananas)

More pictures to follow-including the amazing banner on the school fence!

This all builds on Year 9 knowledge concerning Fair Trade-this they have gained whilst leaning about and completing Fair Trade assessment in Development in Year 9 Geography over the Autumn term 2009- 10.

We have been relatively quiet on the blog this year-but plan more posts of all the exciting things that are going on in the school in our bid to take sustainability forwards!
